Our Programme

We offer tailor-made programmes to Primary schools within Leicestershire and beyond, helping children to become resilient to messages they receive that tell them that they aren’t good enough as they are, instead teaching them that the way they look is the least interesting thing about them (and helping parents and school staff to understand how they can support this message).

Our programmes are delivered in-person by Charlie Smith, qualified teacher and founding director of See the Heart. Our core programme includes a combination of interactive pupil workshops, assemblies and training for staff, as well as resources to be passed on to parents. We can tailor the number and lengths of workshops/assemblies to your needs, to ensure that all year groups within the school get access to the content and will run an after-school staff meeting on the same day (if desired). A full day programme (typically 10am-4.30pm) costs £295 (plus travel costs if outside of Leicestershire).

‘Thank you so much for today Charlie. We all loved the activities we were involved in. Such a positive message to get across to us all. The staff that I have spoken to have only positive things to say about the sessions.’

PSHE subject leader at a Leicestershire primary school – 2023

‘Charlie is an avid body image activist, an engaging teacher and a compassionate human being. I attended a workshop that Charlie ran and found it very thought provoking. It is challenging to break free from diet culture and Charlie has been with us every step of the way. Our children look to us for guidance on body acceptance and I couldn’t have provided this without Charlie’s knowledge and support.’

Lucy Pennington (teacher) – 2023

‘I didn’t realise the impact of the media on my view of myself and others. Since the workshop with Charlie, I have had my eyes opened to challenge my own misguided beliefs. I am now mindful in the way I nurture my young daughters and my own students in the classroom.’

Elspeth Ndabananiye (teacher) – 2023

We can be very flexible and will tailor our programme to suit you. While our core, full-day programme is our most impactful and best value package, if there are only certain parts of the programme that you require, or other elements you’d like us to include, we would be more than happy to help.
